2026 IME-Taekwondo

I. SELECTION PROCESS

Eligibility requirements for an athlete to be considered for nomination to the team.

1. Mexican Citizenship with a Mexican birth certificate (must live outside of Mexico).
2. CURP - can be downloaded at https://www.gob.mx/curp/. 
3. Current US passport valid through, at least, December 2026.
4. Holder of Taekwondo Dan certificate issued by Kukkiwon. (IME-TKD can process your Kukkiwon certification, if needed.)
5. An athlete must be at least 10 years of age and no more than 20 years of age as of December 31, 2026.
6. School-aged athletes must provide proof of current U.S. school enrollment

Selection Process Overview

The athlete selection process for the 2026 IME-TKD Team is subject to participation at the Qualifier Event the 2026 U.S. OPEN (March 5-8, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada). All possible spots are available except the spot taken by 2025 IME gold medal winner, which is Junior Female -44kg.
